Description of Organization

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Eligibility for Services

Hope Lodge- Free housing facilities for cancer patients undergoing treatment.
LGFB-any cancer patient going through chemo and radiation treatment.
Reach to Recovery-any female breast cancer patient
Road to Recovery-any cancer patient needing transportation to scheduled doctor?s appointments and/or treatment (must be 18 years of age and ambulatory).
I Can Cope- any Cancer survivors and caregivers
Dietician on Call-any patient needing diet and nutrition consultation and information
Freshstart-anyone who desires to stop smoking
College Scholarships-students between the ages of 19-25 who were diagnosed with cancer before the age of 19
Grant opportunities-any organization who applies and provides services and activities that focus on the American Cancer Society?s outcomes of Quality of Life; Tobacco ; Breast; Colon and Prostate.
