Survivorship Education & Awareness
DeeAnn Jones & Susan Harrison, Co-Chairs

Works to improve access to information, resources and professionals that address the non-medical and psychosocial aspects of cancer and enhance quality of life for cancer survivors and their caregivers. Committee is currently planning a SC Survivorship Conference for early 2008.

Pediatric Cancer Resource Awareness & Promotion
Anthony Coggiola, Chair

Works to improve awareness of pediatric cancer and ensure that families have access to the full spectrum of information, resources, and professionals to assist them in coping with their child’s diagnosis. Committee is currently developing a SC Pediatric Cancer Addendum for the Livestrong Notebooks and is working with SC-ETV and other partners to develop programming and Public Service Announcements about pediatric cancer.

Patient Navigator Network
Deidre Young and Diane Gluck, Co-Chairs

Works to develop a state-wide Patient Navigator Network that uses a combination of trained individuals to provide information to cancer patients in such a way as to increase their ability to access, navigate and utilize the health care system and its resources. Committee is currently evaluating patient navigation training models and beginning to train lay volunteers in the use of the Pediatric Cancer Resource Guide.

Cancer Resource Clearinghouse
Peggy Hitchcox and Dixie Slitcher, Co-Chairs

Works with state, national & local partners to develop a Cancer Resource Information System for South Carolina. Committee is currently compiling baseline data and identifying methods for updating and distributing resource information to survivors.
